A real estate agent’s vehicle is an integral part of their business and that’s why FCA US LLC (formerly Chrysler Group LLC), the official automobile manufacturer of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, is offering NAR members AND immediate family members a $500 cash allowance on the purchase or lease of select Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® or Ram models, and the FIAT® 500L. Plus, REALTORS® receive 2 years (up to 8 changes) no-charge oil changes. It’s time to close the deal on this offer, so you can help your clients close the deal on their new homes.

NAR News

AEs Launch Closed, Peer-to-Peer Facebook Group
A private, peer-to-peer group created by REALTOR® association executives is active on Facebook. The new group is called AEI Year-Round and it’s intended for sharing best practices for managing associations and MLSs. Group rules are in place to help keep conversations professional, relevant, and helpful.

Millennials are Todays' Biggest Homebuyers
A growing share of homebuyers are millennials, and more of them are purchasing single-family homes outside of urban areas, according to NAR’S Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends  study.

Speakers Represent Both Sides of Political Aisle
AEs: A March 7 article in Inman News discusses a speech by former secretary of state Hilary Clinton to REALTORS® at the 2013 NAR Conference & Expo in San Francisco. Share with members who ask about this that NAR strives to select speakers who play an important role in shaping our country’s public policy discourse. Clinton was invited to share her experiences while serving as First Lady, U.S. senator, and secretary of state, and her remarks follow a line of similar NAR speakers, including former secretaries of state Condoleezza Rice and General Colin Powell. No dues funds were used to cover her speaker costs and NAR does not endorse presidential candidates. More

Military Get Extended Foreclosure Protection in Bill
Persons in the military would be protected from foreclosure for a year after active duty in a bill  NAR supports. The bill would restore and extend protection that is expiring.

Bill Tries to Get Commercial Risk-Retention Right
NAR backs a bill to help keep commercial real estate on a solid path by making upcoming risk-retention rules more appropriate to market realities. Right now, rules that are scheduled to take effect at the end of the year to protect against overly loose loans would have the unintended effect of making it harder for lenders to make safe loans.

10 States Must End Internet Access Taxes
The latest Voice for Real Estate news video looks at NAR’s win on Internet access taxes. The new law requires 10 states that impose the taxes to end them by June 30, 2020. It also prevents other states from imposing the taxes, which are paid by Internet service providers and passed on to consumers. Other stories look at the surprising stability of residential contract signings despite global economic woes, what steps you can take to protect yourself from  liability if you have photos that infringe copyrights, and why NAR and several state and local associations are partnering on a booth at an upcoming international real estate conference.
